Request to my Fellow Substackers
Would you be kind enough to share my Love Canal documentary with your list?
Dear Friend and Reader:
This note is intended for those who are active on Substack as presenters or readers.
Last night, I published a documentary about the Love Canal tragedy in western New York State (linked below). Though it seems to be in the distant past, it’s a report on the state of the American Dream, and a comment on what has happened the past four years.
If you work on Substack, would you be kind enough to share the post below? It’s a different kind of piece than I usually do, your readers may be interested, and it’s an opportunity to bring some new eyes and fresh minds to my approach to journalism.
Thank you in advance.
For podcasters: I’m available for interviews on The Chemical History of the United States, including Love Canal and related incidents. My current interview topics also include The Role of Journalism in the Digital Age, The Spiritual Implications of Digital Conditions, and Applied Chaos Theory: Astrology in a Digital World.
If you’re interested, just reply to this email, call me at (845) 481-5616 (or both).
Thank you again for sharing the post below with your readers.
With love,
Absolutely sharing it with my fellow PCB activists here the Berkshires. We’re still fighting a travesty of a river cleanup settlement and slated mountain of a toxic waste dump- right next to the abused river, on porous soil over an aquifer and adjacent to schools and neighborhoods, agreed to by bought-out town officials in executive session after decades of GE’s bullying.
The power drunk EPA officials, corrupt courts, exhausted families, sick children, and obvious gross injustice are all so familiar.
There’s a story in progress here- perhaps if you do have fledgling journalists under your wing, it would be a perfect topic for you to guide them through cutting their teeth on.
Big love to you Eric.
Around min 1:29:00 of your interview with Luella Kenney you use this phrase - "something in the American psyche..." Yes, very true. What is this mysterious element that blocks us from hearing/seeing/believing that such toxic places can exist, that they can be so harmful, and that government could possibly gaslight or deceive us? We are updating our earlier post, "A Tragic Blind Spot" and pointing to your story. Thank you!
