Good morning on a rainy day in upstate New York.

Way back in 2020, the running joke here was, “Where is this all headed?”

“Must be an alien invasion.”

In April 2020, in the midst of early discussions of lab-release, testing issues, rampant censorship and the USNS Comfort hospital ship chugging out of New York Harbor having done nothing special, news that “UFOs are real” was planted in The New York Times.

By that I mean the Air Force released videos of what it claimed were actual off-world spacecraft, but said nothing about who might be piloting them. Maybe they are autonomous interstellar Ubers; the story doesn’t give a clue to the who.

Later in 2020, the film The Phenomenon was released, a compelling documentary about UFO witnesses, with funny moments featuring presidents Ford and Clinton. You can watch it free, probably packed with ads. It’s also on Prime. (I think it’s worth watching; it holds up well, especially for its presentation of the Ariel school UFO incident in 1994 in Zimbabwe.) It got an orgasmic 88% on Rotten Tomatoes — those people don’t like nothin’.

World UFO Day = Roswell Crash Site Discovery Anniversary

We’ve been tracking UFO news since then. Starting in early February, the number of articles went through the roof. That was the weekend of the East Palestine dioxin train wreck, when the story was sold as the “Chinese balloon” advertising a take-out place in my neighborhood, and became “the Air Force is shooting down UFOs.”

Unclench ye flood gates! It’s been nonstop since. Relentless. Make it stop!

But since today is UFO awareness day (must be a big party in Roswell, New Mexico). By the way, did you know that the wreckage was really found in Corona, New Mexico?

Thanks to it being the anniversary of the discovery of that wreckage, “July 2 was declared as the official World UFO Day by the World UFO Day Organisation. It is believed that the first World UFO Day was celebrated in 2001 by UFO researcher Haktan Akdogan.”

Eric Francis, where's the quiz you promised?

Of course I haven't read or watched all these articles or videos. (I did read and watch a few though.) What exactly would being the UFO bureau chief for Planet Waves entail?

The issue of whether or not UFOs exist hardly even seems like a question to me. I grew up in and imbibed the ethos of a family that was and is extremely materialistic (in the philosophical meaning of “materialism") and militantly atheistic, but beginning in my mid-twenties I evolved away from that prison of a reality. I took classes at the Berkeley Psychic Institute in the early to mid-1980s, (I was in my twenties at the time) and since then I've known - not simply believed - from personal experience that "not only is the universe stranger than we know, it's stranger than we can even imagine," paraphrasing J.B.S. Haldane.

I've had numerous experiences which defy conventional reality. I wonder if people who do not accept the existence of other levels of reality are even capable of having such experiences. My suspicion is that their energy fields prevent this possibility. I further posit that if something which defies their conception of reality does happen to them, they instinctively, automatically deny it, so that their minds don't even register it.
