I'm not relieved to learn there's now a coloured stripe representing me on a piece of cloth....

In fact, i'm starting to have an Identity Crisis !

You see - for quite some time Sydney (Australia) has been bedecked in mult-striped posters, flags,etc.. They're EVERYWHERE, even on the buses !

And the Official Celebrations have induced in me feelings of being Excluded, of Not Belonging...

But now that i've been Included i'm already starting to miss being Excluded - A feeling akin to those expressed by some old queens with "I miss being in The Closet !"

When The State takes up a Cause it doesnt bode well...When The State usurps the force of Customs, it imposes control through laws...Anarchy is Outlawed !!!

Thanks Eric....Cracked up when I read this drivel. But, hey, might be true! Not....Ruth G's ghost!

..... I did just read this on twitterdom: Real Crazy News:

(From a middle school student, 7th grade, at Middleborough, Massachusetts)

Federal judge in Massachusetts held that a shirt reading “there are only two genders” is not protected speech and “invades the rights of others.”

If you still think people are blowing the “gender thing,” out of proportion, then you aren’t paying attention.

Ya Can't Make This **** Up! Who or What Authority gives people the 'Right or Denial' of the First Amendment?

so the federal courts upheld "fuck the draft" as protected speech but not an opinion about gender? what is next, "there are not two political parties"?

I am inclined to agree, but it is somewhat worrying. The main reference point seems to be the incident at a Target inPhoenix. It did have an effect, which is why I used the phrase “perhaps manufactured.” Nevertheless, it may be starting to take on a life of its own. There was an article this week in the NYT by their Canadian correspondent about an incident in KelownaBC—where a spectator at a girls’ softball game disruptively challenged the gender of one of the girls, aged 9. The import/point of the reportage was the quoting someone opining that is is “spill over” from the US…My concern with this narrative arc is that children are the pawns or focus point…Remember Anita Bryant? Remember “Save the Children”? Whatever is old is new again. Some tropes never die…They remain useful. Their “truth value” (a term used in formal logic) is 0 to negative relevant, but thei utility is quite high/valuable. E.g. someone twice indicted (and counting) is still going strong…

It's not that they don't die. It's that people are easily triggered, especially when industrial and behavioral psychologists are advising how to PR them. Personally I don't think that most people don't give a toss about gayness. They were concerned about "the sanctity of marriage" but even that turned out to be BS.

Anita Bryant was a tool and a product of television. She was well paid. Nobody cares that much. They only act like it.

As far as DHS, whatever they say, particularly to the general public, must be taken extremely carefully and its agenda identified.

People can complain about prejudice related to groups and "identities" but there is not a person on this planet who does not live with prejudice in some form or another. The notion that "ordinary white men" do not have prejudice directed at them daily is ridiculous. The petty judgments fly, and we are now 60 years into a hate campaign against men...we could go back even further but I think that the organized "feminism" psy-op starts in the Sixties.

The concept of "feminism" to tax women goes back even further. Notably, "feminism" got no further in any complete or holistic form than the right to be taxed.

As far as current uprising against gay people, once Amy Goodman is pleading with the public, you know it's merely a fund drive for her show and homage to those who support her.

For a few seconds I thought I had fallen through a portal somewhere and didn't realize it lol.

Ha Ha. ( But not funny, really. At least not to me. I live in a straight world; you do not live in a gay one.) And while I am old enough to have survived and come through this, many people do not. Mercury square Saturn. (NOT the best thing I've read all day.)

Michael, maybe you're not aware of what this is spoofing...where I live, the town is dripping in pride and trans flags even when it's not Pride Month. Now currently it seems like small-town America on July 4, only rainbow styled. The Kingston tourist trade is largely directed at gay men from the city. They own many of the new businesses...

Accidental pregnancy has now become less likely than getting struck by lightning. Meanwhile there is the pride flag on the White House...and pride news coming in from every direction.

I was not aware of Kingston dripping in pride. I guess they didn’t get the “bulletin”.

In any case, irrespective of the fear-based nature thereof, it is interesting that at the antipode of Kingston (the Southwest), we’ve seen the opposite effect.

That “Target” item in the news happened in Phoenix, for example. But the chilling effect, manufactured or otherwise, is noticeable. Earlier in May, many retailers were highlighting their Pride merch well before June but by the end of May (even before June 1) that was all down back in the closet, so to speak, at least on this end of the polarity. "We don’t want no trouble here.”

Disney is being touted as fighting back, in its way, because, well, it’s Disney…But most cannot--certainly not small businesses. Even the “great and powerful” Apple, is eschewing Pride signage (at least here) and hired the PD (not mall security) at many of its stores.

Yes, Pride news is news-y and at both ends of the spectrum-- not just in the stripes of the flag.

:)

https://www.dhs.gov/ntas/advisory/national-terrorism-advisory-system-bulletin-may-24-2023

As reported by Heather Cox Richardson in her Substack "Letters from an American":

"The Department of Homeland Security today issued a bulletin warning, 'Lone offenders and small groups motivated by a range of ideological beliefs and personal grievances continue to pose a persistent and lethal threat to the Homeland.” Both domestic extremists and foreign terrorists are using online extremist messaging and calls for violence to motivate supporters to launch attacks. Individuals upset about the 2024 election and new laws or court decisions might attack “US critical infrastructure, faith-based institutions, individuals or events associated with the LGBTQIA+ community, schools, racial and ethnic minorities, and government facilities and personnel, including law enforcement.' The advisory is in force for six months."

Michael, digital is pushing everything in the direction of mean, since meanness is now considered a legit form of self-actualization. Mean is coming from every direction, including from causes that whitewash, greenwash, rainbowash or jesuswash themselves as progressive or spiritual.

When LGBTQ+ (all separate topics that have only limited issues in common) pushes itself everywhere, there is going to be a backlash. And the point of my satire is that through this, men who do not claim a sexual orientation of any kind are being cast off as useless or worse, as inherently evil.

Women are granted automatic status as victims of men and are therefore honorary members of LGBTQ+

I will tell you that as a bi and poly person, I have never benefited one iota from LGBTQ, and the main benefits I gained from the poly movement were the opportunity to teach and write for the benefit of others.

And I have seen the LGBTQ movement align itself with the heinous conduct of "feminists" on the basis that "all women are victims of men" so they get to be honorary queer.
