I'm up to about an hour into my segment. I have to say i come off better than i thought i was doing at the time. :-)

BTW, figured out about Buchenwald. You were basically right, but i had something right as well. US troops were the ones who occupied the camp in April 1945, as they did with Erfurt and most of the state of Thuringia. But that state had been slated to become part of the Soviet Occupation Zone, per the Feb 1945 Yalta Agreement (FDR, Churchill. Stalin), so in May-June '45 the US forces pulled back to the pre-determined division lines, and the camp (and Erfurt( became incorporated into what was to become East Germany.
